What is a lightweight bottle?
A lightweight bottle is a glass bottle that contains less glass than traditional glass bottles. This results in a lighter bottle, contributing to a lower environmental impact during manufacturing and transport compared to heavier glass bottles. Switching to lightweight bottles is an effective way to reduce your company's climate impact.
At Creopack, we continuously strive to offer the most sustainable options possible and are constantly expanding our range with more environmentally friendly packaging. We have marked our bottles to make it easier for you, our customer, to find the right one. Our glass bottles that are within the maximum weight for lightweight bottles have a green feather icon, while our ultra-lightweight bottles have a blue feather icon on the product image.

Systembolaget's guidelines for glass bottles
Systembolaget's sustainability goal is to halve its CO2 emissions by 2030 compared to 2019. All products they sell must at least be made of lightweight glass or have a similarly low CO2 impact. Therefore, Systembolaget places high sustainability requirements on new products in their fixed assortment.
Maximum weight for glass bottles from March 1, 2024
On March 1, 2024, Systembolaget will introduce a maximum weight for single-use glass bottles. This requirement applies to all products bottled after this date. Older vintages are not covered by the requirement. Systembolaget has established a requirement model with maximum weights linked to sales volume for single-use glass bottles. Their requirement is a maximum of 5 tons of CO2 emissions per year per article that exceeds the maximum weights.
